Controlling Mini Exhaust Fan through Android-Based Smartphone for IoT-Based Smart Home System

In this work, we present a control system for mini electrical fan. The aim of work is to design controller prototype an fan within the smart home system. consists STM32L100 microcontroller controlling using pulse-width modulation (PWM), TIP 102 BJT transistor ‘off,’ and ‘on’ fan, 1N4007 fly-back diode. PWM generated by Fan’s speed softly (25%, 50%, 75%, 0% - 100% speed). addition, equipped with ZigBee module support wireless communication host, which required receive process commands from Android application used user interface. Moreover, Zigbee module, device enables be integrated wirelessly other end devices in environment through network (e.g., Mesh topology). Based on testing performed, can as intended, it controlled easily smartphone its speed, currents 43.1 mA (idle mode) 145.1 (processing powered 12 VDC.
